My advice, avoid this one. There are 2 others I liked MUCH better. I've tried this one and the other 2 and I can strongly suggest you study from the other 2.

I passed my vcp 310 exam today bought the selftestengine vcp 310 with 217 and passed with 97% beware dumps up here are much different than what i got from selftestengine.

Just walked through all 214 of the "VMware.selftestengine.VCP-310.v2009-05-24.by.Tom.214q.vce" questions, actually there's only about 40-50 quesions, rest is repetitions, many are wrongly formatted and about 5% are simply wrong (the answers I mean, I cross checked with the corresponding VMware documents).. doesn't really build trust in the files here :(

Yes, I downloaded almost all the vce available on this and most of then have repeated questions and on an averege not more than 5 questions.
I read this forum thorougly and it is difficult to decide who is correct. I was just wondering if I could see the test from real questions, never mind, please tell me how to get maximum questions like u said 214 ( and not just 5 ) from these VCE's , any help?

Passed with 92%! yeah!!! I am also in the process of becoming a VCI.

Advice I can give to people who are preparing the exam is to make sure you read through all the suggested PDF files the Blueprint suggested. It isn't called the "Blueprint" for no reason!!! It's kinda painful to go through the PDF files especially if you have done a lot of them in your job but I find it quite important to know all those little tiny details about everything. Trust me, it will be useful later on. I went through almost 30 PDF files page by page found on VMWare website and only to realize in the exam that it really helped.

Then i bought exam from selftestengine just to go over what are the real questions in the exam. I could have passed without studying this much just from selftestengine as they provide word to word real questions that you will see in th exam but first i studied so that i know what is really going on the real field.

I'm new user to this site so hello to everyone. I took the test in March and failed my score 66% so close but so far. I had..Pass4sure, Testcert, Actual Test, at my disposal and still failed this exam, I found that some of the test engines had the same question but different answers. Sods law the same questions that were contradicting them self's came up in my exam.

1. Vcb can it be installed on a physical or virtual PC

Some test engines have different answers for this question on the VMware website it says only physical but then on a certified VMware web stream they say it can be on both.Did this cause me to lose marks?

I deleted all the questions that where dubble. I have now 140 Q and A. I dont know what the differend from thte pass4sure Vmware because is see that they still have 214 Q and A. Are there also dubble in it? does anyone has the latest Pass4sure?

Well I've passed the exam with 85%.

I've checked all of the survey questions with C, but I can say that abou 50-60 % of the questions were from this dump.

If you have some experience with ESX, and you attended the class (as I did), you can study this dump and ESX configuration maximums from vmware site (more that 10 questions out of 75 were from this document), and you should be fine.

I passed my exam today with an 85% from selftestengine. Answered all survey questions C. There were 7-8 questions that were not in the selftestengine dump but the rest was very accurate. This dump is valid.

Took the test today and almost failed. I studied selftestengine and answered C to all choices. Only 20% of the questions are from the dump. Study the class manual, you will be better off.

Passed with 91% on Wednesday last week. Used this guide and http://vcp-310.co.uk/ and VMWARE.com/support/pubs configuration max's.

I thought these covered less than 90% of the questions. However, I have enough experience with ESX3 I was able to deduce the ones I didn't know for the most part.

Passed my exam yesterday i answered all the survey questions C as everyone else was saying up here and i would say about 94% came from selftestengine. Aslo guys make sure you have hands on experience as you can pass the exam by cheating no problem but in the real world you are not going to last long. I have been working in this field for 7 years now. I have hands on experience i use brain dumps because i just want to get the certification done. to keep my current job. Other than hands on experience is a must.

Just wanted to clarify some confused posters..

I bought selftestengine dump about 2 months ago, and studied only from this dump (I have 2 years of experience with esx). I failed the exam with 69% and I must say that about 20-30% questions were from this dump. At the beginning of the test (survey) I have checked almost all of the questins as A and B. I honestly think that the test questions are generated from these survey questions.

I am again taking the exam next week a will use the advice posted on these boards and check all of the survey questions as C.

Wish me luck guys, I will report back on this board how it went.

@candygreen, i swear to god I was only trying to help those who are confused inside this thread.. Anyway, yes this document covers 90% of the current questions. Answer C for all survey questions. Use google and other sites to update your knowings on the most recent added questions and verify faulty answers in the 214Q file. I took the exam past tuesday and only used those methods.

i think there were a few that were in the 381q bundle that were not in this one, but for the most part i used it because there were fewer errors in the file itself. I can't find it now, but it was the .exe file from selftestengine, not a .VCE file.

Yes, i passed 92%. The questions/answers that were in the selftestengine bundle were verbatim. There were several that were not covered. I used the 381q pack to study (fewer spelling mistakes, etc.)

I just passed the VCP-310 today with a 73%. For the survey questions anwsered them with all "C". Just studied the "Certify me" only.

I just passed with this getting a 90%. The selftestengine is all I studied. The questions for the survey I answered all "C" even though I knew more than they asked.

failed vcp twice. in desperate need of help. what's the best practice exam?

hi guys i bought exam from selftestengine. then i read the reviews here later on somebody said nothing came from pass4sure and selftestengine. then i went and bought from testpassport as i read some questions came from that product.

These comments have created shit loads of confusion in my mind before i took the exam. Here is my conclusion testpassport is the worst product for your money that you can buy they barely got 10% of the exam questions from the exam. On other hand selftestengine had 90% of the questions on the exam.

Now this i don't understand how all these comment say nothing came out of selftestengine. Then how the hell i passed ? I think there is something fishi going on here. Some people don't want us to pass here. Because of these dumb asses i have lost my 109 dollars on testpassport.

Jonny is right ,you need to take the course as well .i have worked with Vmware for almost 8 months and have installed and configured esx3.5 and i actually know how to setup some stuff ,but the exam caught me off guard and evens the selftestengine and pass4sure didnt help that much ,but also did.The certify 214 questions is basically the same as the 381 questions .same questions ! as i said if you really want to pass it use the PDF's from Vmware

I failed my exam yesterday. watch out guys testpassport is scam they scammed me for 109 dollar and now they are not refunding my money.

I passed this exam last week. Here's my input:-

I used the selftestengine from Dec08 381 questions together with the demo version of testpassport. Using these 2 there were only 23 questions that were new in the exam. If you search in the "I'm certified" section of the exam collection forum you will find some of the new questions listed together with some answers.

Out of the 75 questions you need 23 wrong answers to fail so you only need to find the some of the new questions to pass and to be honest they are not difficult questions - common sense I would say.

The questions in the above Tom vce are all included in the selftestengine dec08. DON'T use the Tom vce as the pdf hasn't been imported correctly and a lot of the answers are incorrect or have been left blank

Remember to become VCP 3 certified you need to take the authorised Install & configure course before VMware will recognise your qualification (even if you take the exam). If you have the VCP-310 by this stage you have until end Dec09 to take the Sphere exam VI4 or otherwise you'll need to take the VI4 install & configure course before taking the exam.

I just passed my VCP with 76 percent and can tell you already that just learning certify,pass4sure etc is not really going to help if you dont use the PDF's from VMWARE .Most of the answers are wrong and all the data needed for the exam is in the PDF .I studies the pdf';s ,selftestengine with 381 questions and pass4sure .When i got the exam they turned the questions totally around and half of it isnt in certify and pass4sure .All in the pdf located on the VMware website .Resource management and admin guide is one of the important ones to go through

You said you purchased your exam last Friday, so this means you only read the material for 1 week? Was 1 week enough time to study? Did you study the 214 question material or the 300+ question file?

After reading soo many posts here i got really confused i did not knew what to study and what not to because there were many posts saying they passed, many saying failed, not reliable, could be posted by selftestengine staff etc etc.

I bought the VCP-310 exam from selftestengine last friday. First i have to tell their payment processor sucks because you have to have a paypal account inorder to buy from them.
then i contacted them and ask whether there is a another way i can use my amex credit card.
they sent me the a direct link from paypal which allowed me to pay via credit card. After the payment was done i got my product.

There product had few spellings mistakes aslo the answer to questions number 88 is A and C
as screwdriver wrote. Aslo there were few questions repeating but i cannot remember exactly how many. I was kind of getting scared that i might failed the exam.

But then i went and took the exam on monday and surprisling every that i studied from selftestengine material was exactly on the test. For me it was well worth it because i don;t care about spelling mistakes at the end of the day i only cared about passing the exam.

Well i have read from many other places that the one with 214 is valid. Now the question is whether this vce with 214 is same as selftestengine vce.

i'm really dispointed, one said he passed and other said faild , i'm afraid the ppl advice us for usin selftestengine to be employers there, coz the tom post 2 vces with diffrent date but same number of questions , so something woring going on, i just had look in selftestengine website and there is update in 11/6 so this should be good one, i hope if someone we can trust have access to selftestengine uplode it for us , we are really stuck

From my understanding the 214 pdf questions from the Tom VCE are only a subset of the questions contained in the selftestengine testing engine version. I have the 381 selftestengine Test engine from 24 Dec (itbhoy) but some of the questions from the 214 PDF are not in there.

So there must be an updated selftestengine Test engine version. Screwdriver can you confirm if all the 214 questions were in your test engine version. If so can you upload it somewhere for us to have a look at.

I passed my VCP 310 exam yesterday with 98% marks. Everything came from selftestengine 214 questions. Please note the answer to question 88 are wrong in the 214 pdf

* Dynamic discovery - Also known as Send Targets discovery. Each time the

I first studied the 214 pdf throughly once i was fully satisfied then i started testing with the testing engine. Once you open the testing engine click exam settings then uncheck where it says select 50 out of total amount of questions then click virtual practice in order to practice all questions from the testing engine. Once you have practice all the questions then you can use practice exam feature of the testing engine which select 50 questions randomly from the total questions to test your knowledge.
