297. End of Part 4

Well, congratulations. You finished the coals and finished part four. So, let’s have a reminder of what we’ve been doing in part four.

Well, first of all, we had to look at the Power BI Service itself, because none of these things that you see on the screen, which are some of the PL-300 requirements, might make as much sense, if we didn’t have a good understanding of what the Power BI service was. So, we had to look at how to upload reports. We then have to look at how to create dashboards, managing tiles on a dashboard, configuring the mobile view, and using the question and answer feature. We then had a look at deploying, and maintaining assets, managing files, and datasets, and managing workspaces, including apps.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this course. I hope you enjoyed this part. And I hope that you are now confident in being able to use the Power BI Service.

298. That’s Almost it for the Power BI Service

Well, well done for getting through to the end of part four. And I hope now you’ve learned a lot about the Power BI Service. You’ve learned the difference between the free version, the pro and the premium. So, you can work out what is best for your organization’s needs.

We’ve learned about how to create dashboards, including on the mobile. We found ways of getting a dashboard fairly quickly by using the Q&A feature and even added a bit of theme into it. We’ve also been managing datasets, including that row-level security group, so RLS, we’ve been also looking at incremental refresh settings. So, you don’t have to have the entirety of big data importing every few hours. And we’ve also been able to say, yeah, this dataset is pretty good. We’ve also been looking at workspaces how to create and configure them, assign people to them, publish, import and update things in them and how to actually publish them as an app, including a development life cycle strategy if you are on Power BI Premium.

Well, I hope you are able to take what you have learned into your power BI Service. And I hope you’re going to think about taking the DA-100 Certification within that look good on your CV or resume. And now it’s time to say goodbye for now.

299. Congratulations for Finishing the Course

Congratulations for completing this course. Let’s have a quick look at what we’ve covered.

We created our first visualizations before going much deeper, by formatting and taking more control with mapping and KPIs. We had a look at getting transform data, also known as Power Query, using the M language. And you will have seen a lot of shortcuts to make your own work more efficient. We went through how to refine your data model, connecting tables together using relationships and DAX formulas. Finally, we looked at how to upload and share your analysis online using the Power BI service.

What will you do next? Keep practicing what you’ve learned on this course. Have a go at practice exam questions and then why not take the PL-300 exam?
