Pass Your CompTIA CAS-001 Exam Easy!

I passed this exam on the last day before its retirement. So there's not need to put any information that maybe useful unless someone is taking it this evening.

The exam goes right into the Simulations.
All of mine were the same as below.
For the MD5 hash, just install the 2nd patch. It only asks to install "a patch".

About 80% of the dump was on the exam, so thanks "BERNICE".

All in all it took me less than an hour to complete the exam. Good luck to those taking it this afternoon or evening!

Just passed the exam. The test was difficult since they added 10 new questions not in the premium vce. These 10 questions did test your experience and knowledge.

Just passed my test. Great test. Had same sims as others below. They aren't hard if you actually know what your doing. They aren't very straight forward though.

Passed yesterday. I used the Premium edition (493 Questions) but this Bernice VCE should do you fine. There were approximately 5 multiple choice questions that were new but were not super difficult.

I had the same sims that OMGEE listed below. I didn't know about the Sim 1 Telco Router Sim (didn't see this on the Premium VCE), but did my best deny guess to the affected server.

Good luck last minute CAS-001 takers. Exam expires end of this week.

I just pass today and...I must say that this isn't I would consider a cake walk. I wanted to say thanks to all that shared their experience!
I had 65 questions 4 sims. Telco routers, the MD5 hash, CIA and Traversal attack. No SQL injection attack

Still valid: BERNICE 349q...thank you! There were maybe just a few questions in it that i didn't recognized, but if your read it you'll pretty much can answer them.

SIMS:

1. Telco routers - Read the scenario and pay attention to details. Drill in to the logs, check which ip is trying to access the SQL server that is not authorize, make the changes in the FW, check deny on the unathorized IP.


2. Verify which is the victim of buffer overflow attack (AAAAAAADDDDFFFFFF). Verify the victim of the traversal attack, I chose server A log(/./././././././././). verify the IP source (write it down) verify the destination IP(traversal attack victim) Drill in to the only router where the traffic is and make the deny change.

3. Md5 hash - Most ppl says this is the easiest one, only if you know what ur doing. Here's how i did it. Scroll over the link to verify which ones have the "https" after verifying them, I click on download (make sure the hash match before installing it), the first one had the certificate error, so I cancel and ignored the one. Move on to the next one until you've downloaded all 3 0r 4 https link, in the command type md5sum.exe install.exe (enter). Match the hash be sure it's the same, then keep typing install.exe then run it until you can no longer can install.

If it is the sim to configure the firewall, and routers 1 and 2, the router commands do not actually need to be changed to stop that attack from occurring. The sim just asks you to stop the data flow, which you can do from the ACL on firewall facing the internet since the attack IP is coming from the internet and not internal. The routers have commands but I did not change them as they would have cut off my other servers in that zone.

I just took the test today and PASSED. This had all but the extra questions they added for testing purposes. I studied ONLY this dump last night for a total of maybe twelve hours so that should give you an exact idea of how this was effective. I do have about 10 years of experience also which did help a bit.

Sims and explain them a bit as they were very vague on how you go about them (ie. what to exactly do) I had the md5 hash, sql injection attack with router and firewall modifications(dont need to touch the routers just the firewall acl) The CIA fill in the blank, xss attack ( firewall changes)and SQL attack host and target and firewall changes. A bit tired so will update more when done i get the chance. I will answer questions anyone has in the next few days as thorough as I can.

I took the exam last week. The SIM that PIP spoke of was on my exam and several of my friends. You have to configure a router, but it does not use standard command. Type HELP to see the list. I messed that one up.

Passed 27 May 2015. 85% - 90% Valid.

* And another SIM that I was not sure what to do with. Apparently you have to make changes in the Routers through command line. I did see this one on the Hiroshi 495 vce, but no answer was one there on what to do! Hope this helps!

I just passed CAS-001 on May 4th and there were 63 questions and they were all from the premium VCE. 5 questions on the exam were not on the premium VCE so i guess those were the questions that didn't count as part of your score.

I think SexyPhat took the Cas-002. Passed the CAS-001 on May 4th and the questions were word for word from the premium vce. 63 questions and 5 questions on the exams were not on the VCE.

The dumps are valid but there are a handful of questions I never saw and didn’t know how to answer them.

Hey David thanks for your comment. I have just recently finished the premium dump focusing on the multiple choice questions. This week I will study the sims and shortly after test.

The premium is on point(493 study questions) This is identical to actual test study material version 11. I had the 65 question exam and passed easily. 4 sims/ 61 multiple choice. Nonce of this so-called new material was on my test

Will be testing (CAS-002) in a month. I have the Sybex book and this dump for -001. Can anyone point me to a useful -002 dump?

Passed using this dump and other study material for the remaining 100 or so questions not on this one. Still a worth while dump...but don't rely solely on this to pass. Be prepared for SIMs right away.

Took this exam yesterday and passed with this dump and the premium files. The sim covered were:

1. SQL host attack on a server
2. CIA drag and drop
3. Patch download and install and verify with MD5.

Only three were on mine and it seems as if varries depending on location.

I passed CASP today, I purchased the premium file and 85% of the question were covered along with 3 out of the 4 sims on the exam. My advice, purchase the premium!

The sims, I had were from this dump, but questions only had about 10 to 15 from this dump. I thought the older version of actual test with 272 quest was a little better. But i think a newer version is out

I took the CASP exam and passed today. About 60% questions came from this dump but the SIMs not cover good. I got many multiple choice questions and 6 SIMS. My friend told me lead 2 pass site where they provide more updated questions and covered the SIMs. He passed this exam as well. Anyway good luck.

Looking at previous post, it appears I’m not the only one having trouble with the SIMS.

This dump is about 70% valid from what I had on my test. I just passed today and this was a major help. The sims portion was hit and miss. Two of them I got in the actual exam, though only one of them was readable in the dump so I was on my own on the second anyways.

With that in mind it seems that the test has changed and there about 15 questions that I got that weren't in the dumps.

I took the CASP exam today and passed. Some of the questions from this dump are on the exam. I use transcender and Actual exams to review after reading the CASP book.

I will be taking the exam next week. So far I have read the Sybex CASP book and taken the practice tests in the book.

SIMs are real hard. Each SIM shown in the dump is on the test. I'd like to emphasize that if you do not know what the SIMs do, then you're not ready for the exam. Security is a serious field & I'd rather see people who know what they're doing. For help, read the Sybex CASP book. The exercises in the book will help understand the SIMs.

@Wendy. So, I took them exam about 7 weeks ago and passed. I only used this dump, and I only studied the sims that were on the dump as well. From what I can remember I noticed about 4-5 new questions. I did get 5 SIMS on my exam and they were all from this dump. Again, this is pretty much all I used to study for the exam. I'm thinking that the exam has changed in the last month or so, it seems quite a few people are not passing using only this dump. Hope this helps.

Regarding the SIMS...when reviewing the server logs, what do the various attacks look like? The braindump dump includes images of the server logs, but no explanation as to what is what...i.e. buffer overflow, XSS, SQL injection, brute force, etc. Furhter, the answers don't make sense that they've provided. Emily what kermit and Robin said looks right. I had almost exactly what kermit had (As far as sims go). I also did not spend much time studying and have yet to take SEC+, but I work with computers daily and know most of this stuff. The questions were not all word for word, but they werent too difficult either. Just take your time skip over ones you don't know for sure and then come back to them when you have time. Thats what I did and it seemed to work!

Hello all, I posted this dump. For everyone who's been having hard time passing, do this trick, skip SIMS at the beginning of the exam, then when you're done with the multiple choice, come back & finish the SIMs. If you dont know what the SIMs do, then you're probably not ready for the test. You gotta have some basic understanding of networking & security. Get at least security+ before attempting this cert.

Passed yesterday. The test is hard, but not too hard. Practice the SIMs and know the questions. I had around 20-30 questions on my exam (some were word for word). Let me know if any of you who are studying for this exam have questions, I will do my best to anwser them.

Does anyone know of any test engine, where you can show the question and show ONLY the correct answer? Can you customize one to work in such a way as only the CORRECT answer is displayed? I believe that when reading thru four answers I may miss the correct one because it sounds like the correct one. I am hoping that if only the correct one is displayed when studying that this will ‘lock’ into my memory allowing me to zero in on the correct on the exam

2 = SQL injection

Right click check log of server, identify attack and find source. Make a deny change in the ACL. If you don't what an sql attack looks like just look for a long string of text that doesn't look like any of the other logs. When you find that log, note the IP the long string is coming from that's the source. Note the IP of the server you are on and then click the FW and click deny on that ip set.

Roll over download link and look at bottom of screen. You'll see either an https or http URL. Download the https file. In command prompt type: Md5sum.exe install.exe
There are four HTTPS links and two HTTP links. Look at the bottom to verify that you use HTTPS. Find one without a certificate error and download it. At the command prompt run "dir" to display the contents of the directory. Run "md5sum.exe install.exe" to view the md5sum and ensure that it is identical to the one shown on the website. Then run "install.exe" and you're good. 2 of them did prompt for me to install? so maybe I installed the wrong one?

Today I passed my Camp exam with only 2 weeks of studying. This is a 100% valid dump. You don't need any other materials. I stand by this dump 100%.

Passed CASP less than an hour ago using only this dump and the comments from the James dump.
65 questions total/4 sims; Q202 - CIA drag n drop; Q203 - DL install.exe MD5sum; Q205 - SQL injection/buffer overflow; and SIM7 from Victoria's feedback on the James dump.
61 Multiple choice, of which 44 I immediately recognized from this dump. That left 17 questions in which I had to figure out the answer through process of elimination or guessing. Perhaps a few of the 17 were ungraded questions.

@Joe, read up the SIMS. You'll need the knowledge from the practical labs in the books. The dump will help u with the multiple choice questions.

I had 65 questions 4 sims. Both SQL injections, the MD5 hash and the matching. For the SQL sims pay attention to what the question is edit the FW rules. They try to throw you off with a lot of extra data and information that isn't relevant. If you know what a SQL injection looks like it's not hard to find the SQL server. If you don't just look for a long string of text that doesn't look like any of the other logs. When you find that log, note the IP the long string is coming from that's the source. Note the IP of the server you are on and then click the FW and click deny on that ip set.

I had 75 questions total, so 7 sims and 68 standard questions. The questions were straight off this dump, so that takes care of a large chunk.

If you pay attention to Batman and Victoria's notes on the James dump below, the Sims are well discussed there also. Be comfortable with the command lines, be able to recognize attacks and you will be ready for the exam.

Crow how was the test

This file is 100% valid. I took and passed the test on Saturday and while there is no "score" given, using this in conjunction with other material kept the Q&A part a breeze.

The simulations are what will sink you if you don't know what you are looking for and how to read the information from switches and routers.

I am working on typing up some thoughts on the exam and will post them once they are finished.

Just passed! This test bank is word for word! Didn't even have to look at the questions just could tell the answer by the choices. The answers are in the same order.

I am taking the test on Saturday and will try to get notes ready after the exam. I am in a boot camp for the test this week and the instructor hasn't really helped the the keyboard aspect of the exam, so here is hoping I can remember enough on my own.

I just passed CASP with this dump. Only problem is that SIMs not covered too well. So make sure u read the comments from earlier threads, specially from Victoria. SIMs are hardest. If I didn't have some previous knowledge, I surely would have failed the SIMs. I actually got less than half of SIM #1. The MD5 SIM on download & verify MD5 is tricky. I had to download three times to get it right. The last download is counted in exam. READ ALL PREVIOUS THREADS & RECOMMENDATIONS. This dump is good for multiple choice questions.
