95% valid. Professor Messer's videos and this dump and you can easly pass.
Dear ScottCh.. Because I spent MY money, and I did MY homework, and I think you should do the same. It's kind of like poker. You put your money down and I'll show you my hand. Besides, knowing the REAL answer gives me, and everybody else who knows it, an edge. I get such a kick out of all the people on the posts here sitting around on their @$$e$ waiting for someone to GIVE them all the answers. Get off yours, and figure it out!
One more thing.. That guy that sells the 4000 question simulator that choked up mentions in one of his posts, has the 20 perf-based questions from the real exams. I bought it too, and it was the best $20 I spent on exam preparation. The instant download was nice too.. I asked the guy who wrote it how he knew what the 20 exam sim questions were since you only get to see 4 or 5 of them on the real exam. He said that he just copied and pasted all the posts that people have left here over the past few months, and pieced it together and figured it out. If you guys had done the same, instead of waiting for someone to email you the answers to everything, you would have passed the exam and you would be going to interviews by now. I already got my dream job, and I love it! I didn't wait around for someone to email me all the answers.
This is it.
2. You have a computer with three open, internal ba
ys. From the answers
below, select the best IDE configuration that will
allow for redundancy of data
and the best performance possible. Use the least am
ount of disks possible.
A. One SATA 500 GB drive
B. Two SATA 500 GB drives
C. Three SATA 500 GB drives
D. One PATA 500 GB drive
E. Two PATA 500 GB drives
F. Three PATA 500 GB drives
Answer: F
Explanation: Three PATA 500 GB drives is the best a
nswer in this scenario,
regardless of the fact that it says "use the least
amount of disks possible."
First of all, the question asks for an "IDE configu
ration"—that means PATA,
not SATA. So, the SATA answers are eliminated. Seco
nd, one disk cannot
provide redundancy, so that does away with the one-
disk answers. That
leaves us with the question of whether to select tw
o or three PATA drives.
Remember that the scenario is asking for "redundanc
y of data." That means
we need to use a RAID type that is fault tolerant.
The only two options would
be RAID 1 and RAID 5. (RAID 0 is not an option beca
use it is not fault
tolerant, meaning not redundant.) Both RAID 1 and R
AID 5 have advantages.
For example, RAID 1 will have better performance wh
en writing data. This is
because RAID 5 has high overhead when writing parit
y data. However, RAID
5 wins out in performance when it comes to reading
data, because of the
amount of drives that are being used in unison. Man
y companies will prize
the reading of data over the writing of data. Plus,
in a RAID 5 setup, you can
add up to 32 drives total. In RAID 1, you can only
have the two drives, so
RAID 5 can store a whole lot more data. This may se
em like a close call, and
it is, but the majority of companies and CompTIA wi
ll side with RAID 5 as the
winner in overall performance.
There is a similar question to the RAID sim here. I'm not sure if this is what Dave was talking about.

Dave Stevens.if you are going to call somebody out and say what they don't know why don't you tell us what YOU know?
Just took the Test and Passes 770 this dump is around 70% , my test was 75 questions and 4 simulations.
Sim1: Identify the parts of the motherboard. (Sata connector IDE, Power connector, RAM, PCi, PCIe 1,4,8,16 (Learn how to identify these IMPORTANT), BIOS battery,)
Sim2: Match connectos to there picture ) DVI, HDMI VGA, S-VIDEO
Sim3: You are given a bunch of parts for example that i can remember: 1 Tb hard drive, 280 gb hard drive, 500gb hard drive, Quad core processor, dual core i3 and i5, 8gb RAM, 6Gb RAM, 2 GB RAM, TV turner card, Specialzied video card. So here you are suppose to build a GAMING PC, Home Theater PC and THICK Client, well you know passive cooling (its also there) for the gaming pc, 8gb for gaming, etc.
Sim4: Here well you are giving 3 Hard drive slots: and you are asked to make raid fill them with the minimum amout of IDE hard drives that give the best performance. Well i em not sure if i go it right You can choose the same hard drive more than one time. So used two IDE hard drives with teh same RPM = 7,600 (in my test this was the fastes HDD since the other ide was 5,600 or something like that). Dont know if i em right but this is what i selected.
Well people as YOU are right now i was scared like hell. since i did not want to throw away my money. but . to be honest its not that hard i was surprised. if your already in the TECH field its not that complicated.
Now this is what i used to Study. for 801 there is a PDF on the web called: "CompTIA APlus Rapid Review 2013.PDF" from (Darril Gibson) this is a 400 page file, the first 200 are for exam 801 the other 200 are for 802 so i em sure this will help in my 802 test that i will do shortly. So i read the first 200 pages for 801. i read them 2 times. People this helps. read this book twice. and watch professor messor videos on youtube and simply try hard.
Just finished writing the 801 exam; passed with a score of 883. This dump was very helpful. Some 30 or so questions from the dump were on my exam, nearly word for word. Another 15 or so questions very closely worded to questions from this dump, I studied this dump, Professor Messer and CBT Nuggets. This dump will not replace studying - is a great supplement however. Had 5 sims. The same sims as reported elsewhere in these comments.
Passed this earlier today, studied using this dump, prof. Messer, and knowledge from working as a HelpDesk tech
Prof. Messer and this dump should get you through this, remember you may only see a handful of direct copies from this dump on your exam, but all other questions will be very similar or within the same category, just study your weak areas and you will do fine
I passed the 701 two weeks ago using this dump and messer videos. Thank you all for sharing, this dump was the difference in my passing score
Out of the hundreds of posts on this site regarding the three bay hard drive question, I've only seen ONE guy that got it right. And it's not from the post below from Jason. It's actually a bit of a trick question. This EXACT QUESTION AND ANSWER can be found in the ExamCram book and CD. And it comes with a VERY detailed explanation. And that one guy who knew the answer, and knew where it came from, did NOT divulge the answer. I'm not going to either. The CORRECT answer is out there. You just need to find, and understand it. It's not as simple as everyone thinks it is. There is ONE KEY WORD that's the clue to the right answer.
TO put an end to the debate regarding the question about adding in the least number of IDE drives offering the greatest redundancy:
There are 4 drives listed - 15k SAS, 10k SAS, 7200 IDE, 5400 IDE.
You were asked specifically to choose IDE drives, so forget about the SAS (and their associated faster speeds) The greatest redundancy you can create out of 3 drives is a single drive failure. Either raid5 (3 drives, n-1 useable space) or Raid 1 (2 drives, n useable space) So the correct andsweer is two of the largest IDE drives since they asked for the MINIMUM number of drives.
Honestly this is a garbage question though because it didnt specify you had RAID available to you at all - and it's much less commonly available on IDE controllers in the first place.
Hi , i gave 801 exam yesterday ,,this dump is still valid approx 75% .
This dump is still about 70% valid. Just took the 801 today (July 16) and passed with 721. There were a dozen or so new questions not in this dump.
I am in preparation for the CompTIA A+, it would be helpfull if someone tell me something about his or her experience the exam.
upto now i read two books of exam cram from Divid and one book from mike Myers (Certification Passport in fitth Edition) is that enough or nor? and sometime pro messer video
contact me please ramadaan201@gmail.com
thank you for your assistance

This DUMP is useless. maybe 10 questions on the exam. What a waste of time and $180! My advice: Don't bother until the next dump. This one is horrible
My first certification failed—truly embarrassing for it to be the 801 after doing so well on the 802. Sadly, I must agree with some of the posts below—maybe 15-20% of the questions on the exam were similar to this dump. The simulations were as listed below, but the mobo looked nothing like what I expected. Better next time.
I took my 801 two days ago and failed with 620 odd. I have already seen at least 10/15 questions that i saw in my exam in this dump. Im on question 112 as we speak :)
People please please help all the dumps are expired some one please give us new valid dumps .once i feild because of these dumps please help to find 801 valid dump
I would be happy and thankful if some one help me out please save me other ways i will loss my job because of these exams if i don't pass Heeelllpppeee :,(
I agree with Ro_D ,
I took the exam yesterday i passed with 686,I saw only a few question from this dump i think one must consider other means to prepare, please study very hard cause the dump will only help u maybe 15%
The sims are stil the same thou
Took the test 06/06. I passed.scored 699. There was about 20% of the questions that are still there. The Sims are the same as everyone been saying. Definately study. Don't only rely on this dump. But good technique to pass.
Passed, but only about 20% of this dump is valid. the sims however were the same.
Sim1 - Match connectors to their picture (DVI-D, HDMI, VGA, S-Video)
Sim2 - You are given a bunch of parts, build a HTPC, Gaming computer, Thin Client and x86 workstation
Sim3 - Identify all the components of a motherboard (drag&drop labels to a picture). know your PCIe 1/4/16x!
Hello. I'm planning to pass this exam, I've seen the trainsignal videos but that did not help too much. I can pass this exam easily using this dump, but i am afraid if am going to pass this exam in the training centre i will failed. So can i have some ideas about it?
Thanks
Agree with both , Do not trust this dump,
All, FYI, i took exam today and didn't pass .please be carefull 20 % was valid others were new questions plus i bought orignal dumps as well that was totaly the same as this dumps so both were useless .my bad luck don't ever buy dumps and i don't know i why these people says its still invalid its not :( please please some one add the update dumps .

I took the exam today and I passed 882/900 These dumps are still valid. The 95% of the questions were here and the simulation just as described in the other comments. I only studied from Prof Messer Videos. Dont waste your time reading a 1000 pages book.
Hello everyone. I just passed with 786. I got 71 questions on my text and 5 sims. Remember to study for Bluetooth, IR, radio frecuency ranges, and know about them very well. The 4 Simms are the same everyone had talked, amazing! The question there about 15 new questions. I found alot of questions from this dump or similar questions. Good luck to everyone. Im ready to prepare for 802.
Passed 816/900
This dump is like 60% valid I did notice there was a fair amount still in there. About 30 questions were from this dump word for word, the other were similar variations there not word for word but they resulted in the same answer - so if you study this dump understand the concepts behind PC Hardware, Networking, Laptops and Operational Procedures.
The exam i wrote started with 4 simulations. These were the same as mentioned before - but to re-iterate.
1) Motherboard Components - Power connector, P4 Connector, CPU socket, Memory, PCIe (x1, x4, x16), PCI, USB connector (Internal), CPU Fan, CMOS battery, IDE connector, Floppy Connector, Front Panel I/O Jumpers, SATA connectors.
2) Display Connectors - VGA, DVI, S-Video (miniDIN6), HDMI
3) RAID Configurations - answer is two 7,200 IDE HDD
4) Custom PC (Home Theatre, Thick Client & Gaming) - CPU, Video, Power + Case, RAM, and Special Configuration
Bottom Line: Use this as a supplementary study guide, Check out Professor Messer videos there gold - short and informative .
@ AL, yes u must buy the voucher before u could be able to download the full version of the dump
hi, anybody here doing comptia healthcare IT? Do u know of any good dump for the exam or any resourceful material? pls contact me at ezyskies@yahoo.com for any helpful material and i will be most grateful u did, tank u
This dump is 70% valid.
You DEFINITELY need to read the book, i only used the study questions in this file. Along side reading the Mike Meyers 8th edition book, and i did ALL the study review questions from the CD included for this particular exam. MUST STUDY. AS for the new questions, majority of them are all the similar kinds of questions, and different angles of them. Theres no telling, so be prepared, read READ & READ PEOPLE. Dont delay and then only you will come to know ;) . WISH EVERYONE GOOD LUCK. I passed with 786/900
The dump is fairly valid, quite a few questions appeared on my exam today along with the exact sims as mentioned previously. If you rely solely on this dump, you will have a bad time however do familiarise yourself with the material via ebooks, youtube and whatnot.
Passed today 734/900!!!
Passed this on 05/31 with a 775. Half the questions were from this, and same simulations. Best advice study. I used the Messer videos as well as Mike Meyers book. If you rely on the dump alone you are going to have a bad time.
I took mine today, Passed not thanks to this dump. Different questions but honestly just study.
699/900
Hi Emmanuel wot wast the outcome of your exam? Do you have any tips?
Every one is going on about the dump not being valid, but what are the kind of questions is the new test asking? Is it more challenging? Tricky? Give us a general idea so we can prepare our anus's.
I took the exam today
Mike Blue, when did u sit for it?
This dump is no longer valid it's about 10 or less questions left. The Sims are still the same but that's about it.
I hope to hear from you emmanuel rc with updates. Im writing next Friday. I really need an advice from someone. Please not ignore this message. Thanks
writing tomorrow hope it is stl valid will update on results
All the talk about new questions got me thinking have I booked to soon or to late?still have to study anyone out there with an update please?????
Took the exam 1 week ago
most of the questions from this dump are gone, about 15 remain.
Although if you know and studied from a book or any other form of study you should not have a problem.
I got 4 Simms, Check Kenneth post for the Simms info
Make sure you study all the connections to a motherboard
I just passed the exam. there are like 30ish new questions. The rest were definitely from the questions. The questions which did not appear helped apply answers for the new questions, the logic atleast. Good study helper. Not 100% valid anymore, but very much helped. Sims were the same ( RF, BT, etc, identifying motherboard parts, recognizing HDMI, VGA, DVI and S-VIDEO connector.
Some of new questions
which of ports have round connector? - i chose BNC
what is cause of new memory sticks going back after being replaced in large data center
and then some more. but i passed - 786/900
passed today, 691/900, almost failed, they are +- 30 new questions, but they are little bit similar to this dump, the sims are still the same, i was so nervas and confused i cant even remember the new questions, i advice to wait for a new dump and practice it, but if you feel like you got what it takes, you may write.
Techy, could you describe at least, which ones are the new questions? Please!
Passed today, but saw much more than 15 new questions (more like roughly 25 new questions). Same simulations as mentioned (When configuring RAID for IDE hard drives, ensure you are able to identify SATA and IDE drives by appearance from the back of the drive).
I won't say that this dump is still 100% valid, but it's still the best around from what I can tell. Best of luck everyone!
Hi chris. Could you tell me what are the 15 new question about?
Just passed with 699 using only this exam to study. Cut it close, especially with the 15 or so new questions sprung on me. I also took a quick look at a motherboard on google before the test.
Hi everyone. I am taking my test next week. I had study this dump, I know all the question, plus I saw all prefessor messer videos. However its seems that there are 15 news questions? Could someone post here the new questions? Or at least what are does? I really want to pass the test. I am worried. Thanks
I haven't done this exam yet and before I do it, I'd like to know why some people get 76 questions according what it says on the official comptia website (maximum 90 questions) ? Also, let's say I do great on the multiple choice questions but don't do the SIMS at all then what would be the result? So what my question basically is whether the SIMS should be answered or not? is it mandatory? can someone please help?
Just took the exam today. 2013/05/27. There was about 15 new questions. Same SIMS as mentioned previously. Still a valid dump.
I just took the test at 9:00 AM in the US. The dump is still valid, but I had about 15 new questions. I had a total of 75 questions plus the SIMS. They were the same as everyone else: Motherboard Connections, Drive Redundancy, and Building Game PC/HTPC/Thick Client. Know your stuff and study the dump. I passed with 800/900. Good luck.
I just wrote the exam 220-801 few mnts ago but failed I tried converting the file with VCE if u can please can I have the dump converted so I can re-write. Thanks.
Took my exam few hours ago, passed but saw lik 15 questions not frm dis dump. Using this dump was however really helpful, I tank all who contributed in putting dis up.
Hi
I took the test today for the 801, thanks for those who upload the current dump. Most of the question was from it. I had a total of 76 questions and 4 sims. The mb had about 12 spots to fill. know the parts of the mb.
1: Picture of a motherboard that needs to be labelled with: PCI, PCIx1, PCIx4, PCIx16, RAM, CMOS, Front Panel Jumpers, IDE, Floppy, Sata, USB, CPU, Main Power Plug, CPU Power Plug, CPU Fan Plug.
2: Build a computer for redundancy using the least amount of IDE drives for maximum efficiency. You will get 4 drives to choose from, 2 sata, 2 ide. I
3: Drag and Mark Pictures to the connectors HDMI ( 9 pins),serial(9 pins),Vga . (15 pins),s video(4 pins),DVI etc
4: Build 3 computers: Home Theatre PC, Thick Client, Gaming PC. An exact amount of parts will be given.
Took the exam today can say this exam prep is word for word.(exception for 4 questions)
I did also take 3 simulation questions which are as follows:
(Credit to other users for this list)
1: Picture of a motherboard that needs to be labelled with: PCI, PCIx1, PCIx4, PCIx16, RAM, CMOS, Front Panel Jumpers, IDE, Floppy, Sata, USB, CPU, Main Power Plug, CPU Power Plug, CPU Fan Plug.
2: Build a computer for redundancy using the least amount of IDE drives for maximum efficiency. You will get 4 drives to choose from, 2 sata, 2 ide. I choose to use 2xIDE 7200RPM.
3: Drag and Mark Pictures to the connectors HDMI ( 9 pins),serial(9 pins),Vga (15 pins),s video(4 pins),DVI etc
4: Build 3 computers: Home Theatre PC, Thick Client, Gaming PC. An exact amount of parts will be given. You should know what they all are by this point so the formula is essentially give the highest performance to the gaming CPU with liquid cooling as the additional option. Give the second best performance and largest hard drive to the HTPC with TV Tuner as the additional option. Give the leftovers to the thick/thin client.
5(didn't pop up my exam but might do for others)
identify the Range, Frequency, and Typical media for RF, IR, Bluetooth. You're given a selection of answers that are drag and drop like the other sims.
71 questions total and 4 simulations
I wrote today and passed with 90%
This dump is still valid. Also got 3 simms, 1st was for mb layout and components, 2nd was about raid hdd connections, 3rd was to build 3 types of pcs: home heather, thick client, gaming pc
Study this dump, and you will pass!
Thanks to all who uploaded and created this dump!
two things.
-the motherboard used in the sims is a N1996.
-the sims that has pics of s-video, vag and hdmi ports also has a dvi port that i forgot about. just know what these ports look like.
i passed the test with a score of 828
I did the exam today. the dump is valid word by word. However, there are two
sims questions at first not in the dump.
Reading these comments gives me peace of mind that I know I will surely pass! Im doing my exam month end and I have been stressing due to the fact of financial constraints and cant really afford to fail. I've been doing some reading from my book, watching some videos and using these practice papers. Thanks so Much guys for being awesome and keeping me updated with everyone's experiences .
Wrote the exam today and think the dump is still very valid except for one or two questions, but they easy if you apply logic. Sims are just as Kenneth said. Thanx guys passed with 784
I passed the exam today and the vce was 99% the same, word for word. 1 questions I didn't recognize, but again might have over looked it while studying. Kenneth is spot on about the sims. This dump IS VALID!!!
Took this exam yesterday. With the exception of about 5 questions my exam was identical to this dump. Study this dump and you WILL pass.
One new question was about RAID10. Another about using the incorrect power supply.
Sims were same ones mentioned already in this dump - identify motherboard connectors, build home theater / thick client / gaming PCs, choosing drives to put in bays, identify connectors.
Note: The four simulated question I listed below are not in the dumps! The are on the test and I think each one are worth points for each thing you do on the simulated test. That may be why the test is only 70 some questions. In reality the questions would add up to be much more if you count the simulated tests.
Oh I forgot about this simulated question. I think it was like the first one I had on the test. On the left you have a photo of a PC with three ports labeled 1 for the top bay then 2 and 3 for the bottom bay. On the right you have photos of four drives. Two are SATA drives and the other two I think are IDE drives. I can't remember if any of the drives were optical drives or floppy drives but I do remember they listed the drive speeds. The idea was to drag and drop three drives into the three bays in order top to bottom. Any help on this one? My memory fades..
Sorry not two but three simulation tests and I think they are worth lots of points each. I told you about the simulation motherboard test. The other two are Labeling video out ports according to a picture of each. first one is a S-Video port (i think) the second is a HDMI port and the third is a VGA port. The third simulation shows three systems Gaming, Thin Client and Home Theater. To the left you have 5 categories to chose from: CPU, RAM, PSU, Hard Drive, Special parts. The Special parts are: DMZ (Gaming), Win7 32bit (Thin Client), and I think??? TV Card (HTPC). The Hard Drives were: Solid State (Gaming), 250GB (Thin Client) and 1TB (HTPC). I can't remember the setup for RAM, CPU and PSU.. any help????
One thing that is not on this Dump is the two simulations. One simulation a view of a mother board looking down on it. You will have to label what ports you see on the board. Such as CPU socket, Floppy, IDE, CPU fan, SATA, USB connector ports, Front panel pins, CMOS battery, PCI, PCIe, PCIe 1x, PCIe x16, AGP, RAM sockets, 24/20 pin power connector, 8 pin CPU power connector.. I think that's it. Please add more if I missed anything. Just know what the ports look like and be able to blindly label them.
If you go in exam after reading this dumps u will definitely pass the exam. I passes this exam yesterday with 749 score. Only sims are missing in this dump but u can pass easily just go ahead n take the date.
Just passed with a 801, really only used this for study material.. some light book reading.. questions are spot on word for word..only thing missing are sims unless i missed something
Wow I cannot believe how much CompTIA has "dumbed down" the A+ exam if these questions represent what's being seen in the exam chair! Review a 701 exam if you want to see what I mean.
Tshepo from South Africa, how do you get all the questions? On the Link above I get only 5 questions. Will highly appreciate your reply.
Hey guys I am from Toronto, and just finished the exam today (801).. and let me just say that , it as easy! THe questions asked were taken STRAIGHT out of these tests. So familiarize yourself with the questions , and you ill do just fine
Hi guys just passed my exam today and i can assure u that the dump is so valid, word for word..my score 743 thanks a lot guys..!!!
its vaild . i passed with score 801 . there is like 7 new questions . the sim's is the same .
i hope you did great guys .
I took the Exam last week 3rd May 2013 and i can confirm that the dumps is very valid. The only snag is the simulation, you would see for simulations that you need to answer effectively.
But i can tell you this, if u really go through the dis question 100% even if u don't study the simulations you would still pass the Exam.
All d best...
took my 801 and passed today. This exam was literally word for word I saw 2 new questions but they were simple.. I would recommend to take it ASAP before they change the questions..
Hi Dan, when you take the real exam, did you see all the question from this dump? There are like 5 different dump, i am confuse. Which one is more valid? Could you be more specific with the sims question? I am sorry to bother you with many questions, but I really want to pass the a+ exam. I hope to hear from you soon.thanks
i took this exam yesetrday and i can say this dump is 90 perecent valid. you only need to read this dump and study the sims on the motherbaord parts, diffrent cable connects ( VGA, DVI, HDMi and S-Video). Watts).
Used this file only and scored a 890. I was shocked to see how many of the test questions were on this document, all but maybe 10 was covered here. The simulations wasn't too bad. Just make sure you can label the different ports on a motherboard. PCI PCIe/x4/x16
