Using a "BranchCache Hosted Cache" on the branch offices Windows Server 2008 R2 will host cached updates from the main office's WSUS server.
However the XP and Vista machines will still get their updates over the WAN from the main office's WSUS server as they know nothing about Branch caching (Branch caching without BITS works for Windows 7 Ult+Ent. and Win 2008 R2).

Yes, according to my humble opinion the correct answer is B.
BITS version 3.0 introduced 'peer-caching' which will only work for Windows Vista and later. The XP machines will still download from the WSUS server.

If peer caching is enabled on a computer, the Automatic Update agent instructs BITS to make downloaded files available to that computer's peers as well.

When the files have been downloaded, BITS caches them. When another (peer caching-enabled) computer tries to download the same update, BITS on that computer sends a multicast request to all of that computer's peers. If one or more of the peers responds to the request, BITS will download the file from the first computer to respond. If the download from the peer fails or take too long, BITS continues the download from the WSUS server or Microsoft Update.

This feature of BITS can optimize the bandwidth used by WSUS in several ways.

1. Peer caching decreases the amount of data transferred from the WSUS server to its clients, because computers in the same subnet will usually download the updates from each other.

2. Peer caching decreases the amount of data transferred across the WAN when some or all of the clients of a WSUS server are located in different locations.

3. Peer caching decreases the amount of data transferred across the Internet if WSUS clients in the same subnet are configured to download updates from Microsoft Update.

Passed with 900 in UK today. Questions from 1-16 were completely new. With the knowledge of the exam file though, answers were obvious.

Lot of new questions in the beginning (around 11-13 questions new ) then questions from 60-67 with 7-8 choices. Study the dumps well and make sure that you understand the logic of the questions.

GlobalNames is not just for WINS. Its also for Single Label names like (in this question) Web1. A regular A record is for an FQDN So it would have to be Web1.domain.com or something. In this question Web1 has no domain info appended and is therefore a global name, not a domain name. Hope this helps

Passed this exam today with 900 here in Switzerland. Some new questions out of 67 questions. At the beginning it says, that 5 questions won't be counted.
Like 5 drag and drop questions.
The last 5 questions show 5 different questions but there are always the same 10 answers.

Exam format of 70-642 changed. Passed today with 880 with the help of my practical work exp & pls study the book well. There are 21 new ques & total Ques 67. Most of the new ques are based on drag on drop, rearranging, graphical selection of answers.like -
1) U r given 2 subnet connected with router u have to assign two IP to both interfaces.
2) U have backed up a windows server using windows backup now u have to test it by restoring. there are 10 graphical images - safe mode/safe mode with net/ directory service mode/ normal restart ..u have to select one
3) 5 ques in a row have same 10 options with different ques - options were all roles or services and u have to select one - for example to configure vpn which role u will install from 10 options-
4) A graphical image of ipsec mode section is given with tree view main & quick mode 8 options - u have to select one to show the authentication statistics
5) There r 3 DC. u want to replicate encrypted zone between two. what will u do? from 6 option u have to drag 3. options were -create secondary zone/primary zone/ modify replication scope/ modify zone transfer settings .
6) 10 images of administrative tools's shortcut. to configure file share which shortcut will u click?
7) A table is given with 2 app.exe with 4 ports and inbound/outbound specifications. How many rules u have to create from the table?
8) U installed a new application. but it's update is not showing at classification list of WSUS. What will u do? - u have to drag 3 options one by one from 6

You can pass with the current dump but it would be too risky, if you will not be able to give correct answers of some of the new questions, but still i guess you can pass with this dumps with around 750 - 800 ( but bro again its only a guess)

1) What are the steps involved to configure a Server which can use the DNS server which is located on different subnet.
2)A detailed set of same answers for 5 different questions regarding NAP Server.
3)GUI based question of where can you see the total number of request hitting NAP server.
4)GUI based question for how do you start your server for the complete backup( include DOS screen which prompt after hitting F8 at the booting time of OS)
