Passed today with 960. Dump is 100% valid in Canada, every single question was from here. I noticed that not many questions were from the buzz dump though, mostly from maxbox and mskiller. I also noticed I had a lot of the questions that Gary posted earlier.

Lady..did you have many exhibit questions? Branchcache is rough to get down. How many days did it take you to get the dump done?

I passed today 840. The dump is valid. Majority of the questions came from the MSKiller and Buzz. Be ware of the Branchcache questions I think so of them in the dump are incorrect so check them. There is enough information to pass with. Only saw one question I did not see in this vce.

Hi, passed today with 920. Saw many q's from the dum, but also a few that were unknown to me. I didnt review all 400 q's from the dump, because I had only 9 days to study and prep next to my job. I will take more time on the next cert, it's too much info in such a short time.
Saw questions about loading a driver from the PE prompt, hiding an admin password in an answer file within a wim image. I didnt know about that. Oh well, on to the next one. Thanks Gil for the support. to anyone taking this test: study this dump, understand the answers and you are homefree

I am going with option F on this one peeps because of 2 reasons;

1: This policy needs to apply to more than one PC, it is in an AD DS environment and in these situations GPOs are the recommended route

2: the netsh command is slightly incomplete, though I know this doesn't make it entirely wrong, microsoft could just be lazy or not want to give too much away so they abbrieviate to the main command, however, there should still be a 'location=hostedserver' section after the set service mode=hostedclient command.

So in my opinion this makes option F more correct.

Im not sure. But I tend to take the questions quite literal and most of the times when they dont specify something, its not there. So since this is a win7 exam and they didnt specify GPO usage, I assume its not there. Just as there's not a third party firewall, a hardware firewall or anything else that might prevent branchcache from working.
Some questions just seem to be source for a lot of confusion.

@Marien - Nice one bud, I totally misread the first section, you are quite right. Hosted mode needs to be specified on the clients to look at the local file server.

So what is the best method for this? Option C will clearly work as you have pointed out, however option F is also a possibility as it utilises a GPO to do the same thing.

I can't really see why one is better than the other in this case, I tend to favour a GPO because we are already working in an AD DS envrironment here as set out in the question and selecting a GPO option we know that the problem has been addressed.

However - using the Netsh option also means the firewall rules will be enabled (though this is not actually a factor of this question) so it it does do more for us as an admin, it is also specific to win7 and less of an AD DS answer option F, and from what I understand microsoft is particular about the answer which applies most to the topic of the exam, in this case it's win 7.

i'm afraid I really don't know, the answer must be either C or F now that you have shed light on it, any ideas on which is better?

Word games on Q333. As I read it, the branchcache fileserver AND the Sales users are both in the main office location. Another fileserver is in a remote location. Seems most logical to me that the Sales users in the office make use of the branchcache file server in their location to cache the 5Gb file. In that light answer C looks promising to me

90% of the questions are straightforward en easy to understand, but sometimes it's more like a word game... Im always using the self-paced kits from MS, but for 70-680, the huge number of error does not help here :-)

Thanks Gill, i'll stick to my guns on that one, just wasn't sure if I was missing something.

Also in your corrections listed for question no: 333 - I believe the correct answer would be I. - configure firewall rules for UDP 3702 and TCP 80.

This makes the most sense as it is already stated that it is an enterprise environment, and distributed mode has already been set, if this were already done with netsh.exe then the firewall rules would have been automatically made, so it must have been set using group policy which is the only other option.

If done through group policy then the firewall rules for distributed mode must be made, and as this is an enterprise environment the logical way to do this for all client systems is to modify the appropriate GPO for the client firewalls. To do this using netsh instead is probably against microsft's methodology of do only what is required. It doesn't actually matter which makes the most sense to us, the simplest or most direct solution is usually correct, in this instance, just enable the firewall exceptions, the answer options don't provide for a better way in how this should be done, the point is that this is what MUST be done to rectify the problem.

That's my 2 cents worth on that one :)

Why did you change the answer to using setup.exe from within vista as opposed to booting from the installation media?

I know that it can be done with both from within vista and from the media on booting but to me it seems more correct to use the installation media as the wording of using 'setup.exe from with vista' is a little vague.

for my own purposes I am sticking with your original answer unless someone can tell me why going the setup.exe route is better?

Where is written, that it is the plan to restart the collector computer? The source computer should be restarted via script, if an error occurs.
By collecting events from the source computers to a collector computer and then attaching tasks to events (for example Sending an e-mail or restarting a computer) the goal can be reached.
But thanks for the hint to the question, so that I had to look over it once again. I think that even though answer D is correct, there's still an error in it.
The wording must be read: Configure an e v e n t f o r w a r d i n g to a central computer, not an event subscription.
Event forwarding is used, if you have a small number of source computers, event subscription, if you have a large number.

Thanks for the question and for the hint to that vendor, which I've just forgotten as nonrelevant.
i just took a look at the it's site and downloaded the demo. I didn't expect anything new, since every vendor of exam questions cribs another, but I'm wiser now in some other context.

- I wondered where this moronic wording "You should consider ." came from.
Now I reminiscent. It's ActualTests, and it's adopted by BrainDumps or the other way round.
Whatever, hereafter every answer is right.
For example:
If the question is: "How do you install Windows 7?" I could answer: I consider to take a walk with my dog and let the Seven Dwarfs do the installation.
Pardon?

- Some questions, that are offered, are on a Kindergarden level, that surely injures your IT intelligence.

- The rest of questions, that are offered are reworded questions already covered in existing dumps (mostly Buzz).

- The amount of questions - 149Q - is not sufficient. And btw ActualTests has 149 questions, pretended to be updated Nov 24,12 too. Coincidence?

Conclusion:
If you want to spend your money, do not give it to this vendor, instead make a donation to GreenPeace, go for diner to your preferred Italian or something else.

It's similar to Q 385 in my dump, which also occurs in the exam. Here you have to choose between "View Share Permissions" and "Use AccessEnum". Meanwhile I tend to choose "AccessEnum from SysInternals'", since its a Microsoft acquirement, that they want us to know about.

You want to be noticed when a program tries to make changes to the computer a n d you want that privilege elevation occurs automatically without a prompt.
For the first part, it works by using a share permission. But for the second part, it only works by using UAC and the policy Admin Approval Mode.

I have been involved in desktop support for 12 years here in the USA. Any advice for the 680? Best of luck!!

@Robs - well tbh, as long as you know the information to be able to incorporate it into your job, then it's not a big deal, I just think it's stupid how some people only use this braindump, pass the exam, and they probably don't even know what bitlocker is..cuz i understand that some people know the information but they always panic during tests and end up failing because of it, its the people who dont bother studying properly for it at all that pisses me off

No sorry, we got all of the dumps in german, but I think that would help you little.
70-680 in english was a special version for a buddy of mine and has been given to him in a final versions, that has no errors in any way.
70-686 is under construction for the same buddy, but I don't know if I'm gonna publish it, since there are some competent guys from Kasakhstan, Belgium and Germany doing corrections for the existing 70-686 dumps around here.

With Performance Monitor, you can't obtain a list of of users who have logged on by using the same tool.

Q75: yes, it's UAC.
The UAC settings can be done with a slider that allows to adjust UAC notifications between Always Notify and Never Notify.
The first three settings notify you before programs make changes to your computer or Windows.
The UAC policies consist of 10 policies and one of them is the Admin Approval Mode for the built-in Administrator account. If vou enable this and the built-in Administrator account, which is disabled by default, privilege elevation occurs automatically without a UAC prompt.

Just passed the exam with a score of 820. Just a word of advice. The dump is very valid although the questions are in a different order and make sure you study the maxkiller part of the dump as these questions came up a lot. Good luck!

For Q75, I have seen your correction from D to B, but i don't understand. The last part of the question states your answer should prevent harmful applications from making unwanted changes. Wouldn't that imply leaving UAC warnings intact? As preventing applications from making unwanted changes is exactly what UAC does. Confusing. I would have definitely answered D. can you confirm it's definitely B in the test though?

Sure, the answers are not in the same spot. But you can simulate this by setting the VCE Manager to randomize answers.

Don't panic. I only published one dump, that is dated Sept 23 2012 and it is still valid (see the comments).
Other dumps under my name are fakes.
I made corrections to my dump on Nov 01 2012 (see below).
Take both, the dump and the corrections and it should work.

Passed today with an 800. Valid here in the great USA.
