@mokh: Incorrect. The author states the correct way to do the migration earlier in that article.

i. The source VMs should be shut down and turned off.

ii. The source cluster CSV volumes that have been migrated should be off-lined.

iii. The storage that is common to both clusters (LUNS) should be masked (hidden) from the source cluster, to prevent accidental usage by both clusters.

iv. The storage that is common to both clusters (LUNS) should be presented to the new cluster.

v. The CSV volumes on the target cluster should be on-lined.

vi. The VMs on the target cluster should be on-lined.

vii. VMs are migrated and ready for use!

Unfortunately when he posted the step-by-step with his photos he accidentally swapped the words around. You can verify this because he says "a. Unmask the common shared storage (LUNs) so that they are not presented to the Windows Server 2008 R2source cluster" which is exactly the opposite of what unmasking does.

I passed with 735. All questions from this dumb and WENDY but there ara a lot of questions wrong.

Passed Friday with 770. answered 53 out 61 like this dump, 1 new question, were in doubt with the rest.

Q258 is true you need to unmask in cluster 2008 then mask it in cluster 2012. use the following steps during a maintenance window to cut over to the new Windows Server 2012 cluster:

1. Shutdown all VMs on the source Windows Server 2008 R2 cluster that have been migrated.

2. Configure the storage:

a. Unmask the common shared storage (LUNs) so that they are not presented to the Windows Server 2008 R2source cluster

Note: Data could become corrupt if they are presented to multiple clusters at the same time.

b. Mask the common shared storage (LUNs) to the Windows Server 2012 target cluster.

3. Start all VMs on the target Windows Server 2012 cluster.

regarding Q75: 2008R2 might have File resource manager, but you need a 2012 DC in orde to use DAC. so on the exam i suspect you need to give 3 answers.
- remove the deny otherwise everyone in group1 will be denied regardless of the CAP which might be in effect.
- make sure you have a 2012 so you can atleast use DAC.
- make a conditional expression stating if user = group 1 & 2 then deny access.

Q7 is indeed Remote Management Users.

Reason for this is this sentence:

"The Remote Management Users group is generally used to allow users to manage servers through the Server Manager console, whereas the WinRMRemoteWMIUsers_ group is allows remotely running Windows PowerShell commands."

Here it clearly states that WinRMRemoteWMIUsers can only run PS scripts over the network and not Manage servers remotely.

Regarding Q30. it is A en E. you need modify permissions on both Share, NTFS AND cap.
by removing the IT group from the shared folder, they wont have modify rights even though CAP indicated they do. By giving the Authenticated user modify rights, they have modify rights by Share, NTFS and cap.

just tested it in lab to verify.

correct answer is AE. (A to activate the CAP rule which gives them modify rights, and E to give the modify rights on NTFS level)

Passed - 8xx, I had 61 questions, most of which were in this dump. Part of question pool was changed, but in general questions were the same. Don't try to remeber answers, but understand and you will pass. This dump is the best option available. Thanks Judith!!!

Passed the exam yesterday with 7XX, lot's of wrong questions in this dump. i only had doubt of 9 question during the exam.

I actually thought better of my previous comment about DNS - the answers in the file are not all correct but I missed reading a line. Hope you won't post either of my comments. Thanks.

All of the questions talking about DNS not replicating to an RODC or another DC have the wrong answers. The only reason an ADI zone would NOT replicate to a DC is if the DC did NOT have DNS installed. This could be "fixed" by changing the replication scope to "All Domain Controllers in the Domain" in DNS Manager so the answers should all be DNS Manager.

In addition, here are some more thoughts:

Q7, Q66 and Q251 - I think this MIGHT be Remote Management User. I was actually confused by this question but went with winRMRemoteWMIUsers_ because of this technet - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj878312.aspx but this technet says that for remote administration via the Server Manager you must be a Remote Management User - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn579255.aspx#BKMK_RemoteManagementUsers

The question does clearly say it wants you to use Server Manager to manage the IPAM server (which is not the same as an IPAM Client I believe or at least thats what this question boils down to)

Q98 the answers should be B and C I believe. The reason its C and not D is because the question is asking you to be able to configure access-denied assistance "manually using the File Server Resource Manager". In order to do this directly from the server you would need to first enable access-denied assistance (C) and then to allow the settings to be done manually from the server rather than from group policy, you need to change the forced customized message to not configured.

Corrections made prior to me taking the exam:
Q10, Q47, Q81, Q101, Q112, Q134, Q138, Q153 - All of these answers are worded the same but the answers vary each time. I am 100% sure that every VCE out there answered these incorrectly. Whoever posted that bit about “If you see questions about AD Replication, First preference is AD sites and services, then Repadmin and then DNSLINT” is a huge jackass!
The facts as we know them from the question:
1. Both DC's are in their own site.
2. DC1 is a RWDC, Global Catalog Server and a DNS Server
3. DC2 is a RODC and a Global Catalog Server
4. The DNS Server role was added to DC2 after he was made a DC.
5. Everything else is replicating fine except for DNS

The question is asking us to ensure that DC2 replicates the contoso.com zone by using Active Directory replication.

There are only two tools that can enlist a RODC in the DNS application directory partitions (dnscmd & ntdsutil) and either of these tools is listed as a valid answer for every question referenced above and neither are listed together in the same question so its always one or the other as a choice.

We ran this through the lab to verify and here is the email regarding our findings:

The answer is DNSCMD..... you need to add it to both partitions (Forest and Domain) in order to be able to start replication. You need to run it locally on the RODC and wait for replication to happen.

If you try to do it remotely (from another DC; a R/W DC), you will get an error. If that error happens, then you can use the NTDSUTIL as a workaround.

Even if you force replication after running dnscmd, it will not work immediately as the configuration partition needs to be updated first; then DNS will get replicated. You can use repadmin to force a sync AFTER you enlist the RODC in the zone.

Once you add it, any AD integrated zone will replicate to it (we even created a GlobalNames zone to try it).

Q61 - Similar to the previous DNS questions except that unlike the other is DOES NOT say that DC2 is RODC. In this case we have to assume that DNS is not configured as an Active Directory Integrated Zone on DC1 and DC2.
This means that the solution would have to be a choice that allows us to configure DNS as an AD Integrated zone. Only two tools can do this job. According to this link - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee649181(v=ws.10).aspx the only 2 choices are DNS Manager and dnscmd, so the answers should be A & E.
Q30 - Should be A and D - Not E because question specifically states that we must use CAP to control the permissions (NOT NFS)
Q75 - Changed to A and C because NTFS permissions are read before DAC permissions. D is also needed. This one is a toss-up.
Q98 - Should be B
Q91 (also Q224 & Q232 see below) - Q91 differs from Q224 and Q232 in the VCE because the question contains an extra sentence that says “Site 2 is a disaster recovery site”. Dynamic quorum is a good answer but it might not be the best answer (and isn't even a choice for Q224 & Q232). Microsoft states that best practices for configuring disaster recovery sites with uneven nodes, you should remove node votes from the backup site. - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612870.aspx#BKMK_disaster
Q224 & Q232 - Unlike Q91, these do not explicitly state it's a disaster recovery site and because I did not get any of the three questions on my actual exam, I cannot verify the wording. Either way, while creating a file share witness might work, MS doesn't recommend creating a file share witness that isn't accessible to all sites, so I would change the answer for both of these to Remove the node vote for Server4 and Server5.
Q253 - Answers were corrected for this drag & drop based off our lab testing results.

By default a site link has a default cost of 100 so the Main-Branch1 site cost 100. Since we do not have a site link established from Branch2 - Branch1, ISTG will create a logical patch that travels along the Main-Branch2 site link (cost 100) and through Main-Branch1 site link(cost 100) to establish replication connection in the event the least cost path goes down. Since the logical path =200, Branch2 will only replicate with Branch1 if the site link to the Main Site goes down.
Q258 - You need to Mask the storage to cluster 1 before you Unmask it to cluster 2.
Q261 - Install Windows Server Backup should be step 1. While its stated by Microsoft that you do not need Windows Server Backup installed to use Windows Online Backup, its highly recommended. Questions on test that changed, had different answers, were re-ordered or incorrect:
Q4, Q107 & Q212 - (Had other answers that were IPAM DHCP Administrators and/or IAPM DHCP Scope Administrator), which are new groups in Server 2012 R2.
RODC Password Replication - 13 (Included a new answer of Add-ADDomainControllerPasswordReplicationPolicy which is the cmdlet to add a user to the RODC Password Replication Group)
Q22 - This should be D not J - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771809.aspx Preferred Owner is only for configuring failback.
Q70 -Vssadmin was removed and a new answer was added named Diskshadow (which is the correct answer) - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772172.aspx
Q142 & Q229- Question was reworded. Now says “You currently have Scope1, Scope 2 and Scope3 configured to assign 2 DNS servers to DHCP clients. You now want to ensure only Scope1, Scope3 and Scope5 assign the same DNS servers to DHCP clients” - You could reconfigure the scope options or you could go the superscope route. I picked scope options but based on my barely passing score, superscope might be the way to go.
Q189 - Should be C and not D. LUN's are not the same thing as unique disk ID's
Q194 & Q214 - C is not the answer as Zone Delegation is not the same thing as user rights delegation - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc726034.aspx “Also, when you use directory-integrated zones, you can use access control list (ACL) editing to secure a dnsZone object container in the directory tree. This feature provides detailed access to either the zone or a specified resource record in the zone. For example, an ACL for a zone resource record can be restricted so that dynamic updates are allowed only for a specified client computer or a secure group, such as a domain administrators group. This security feature is not available with standard primary zones. “
Q201 - The Stop-BlbClusterNode cmdlet is not the correct answer as this will interrupt connections that are already in progress. Microsoft added a new answer to the list called Suspend-NlbClusterNode, which is the correct answer for this question.
Q206 - Answer D was removed from the answer list and was replaced with dnscmd /ClearCache. Both dnscmd /ClearCache and CacheLockingPercent will work but because the questions is asking for “immediate” DNS resolution, you should select /ClearCache. Also note that ipconfig /flushdns was also added as an answer choice but the question is asking for your DNS server to be able to resolve and not the user.
Q223 - This question was on the test and the answers were exactly as listed in the VCE but I agree with the author that none of these are the correct answer…
Q262 - This question was sneakily reworded. Now instead of it saying “You need to ensure that Server1 is the only server in Site1 that can vote to maintain quorum”, it now says “You need to ensure that if Server1 goes down, users can still access Cluster1”.
Q275 - Question was re-ordered on the exam.
Q276 - Windows Azure Online Backup does support BitLocker but only if the drive is unlocked. For this question I assumed the drive was unlocked so the VCE answers would be correct.
Q278 - Once again Microsoft has reworded a question that changes the answer. The new question stated that when clients connect to App1 by using HTTPS session is not retained by the cluster node that responds to the request and you must select the port rule that provides load balancing. I believe the correct answer is now the bottom left hand block (TCP - Affinity None)
Q280 & Q295 - These questions were on the test and I have no clue if the VCE is correct. Double check them if you have the stomach to understand the technets…

Overall questions / confusion:
Q221 - I am not convinced that the answer to this is D. According to the Nuggets video you can assign an email address for the group and that will allow all users of the group to have access to the template without having to add each individual user. What I'm not clear about is if they need an email address assigned if they are in the group. I think this answer is A and not D.
Q202 - Answer A is technically correct but in order to modify the SCP you need to do it through the AD RMS cluster properties, which is answer D… - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725573.aspx

Quite a few answers differ, have finished the nugget series about a month ago and since then only been reviewing test exams. But that led me to fail the first time.

The questions on the exams are so similar, and the answers are also so similar. Can someone that has passed please review a current exam and provide a reliable source for us to use as study material. This will really be appreciated.

Passed today with a 7XX using this dump. I identified about 20 incorrect questions but did not encounter many of those on the test. All questions were from this dump but there were some question variations that changed the answer in some cases or a different answer that referenced the powershell cmdlet instead. I plan to work with the author of this dump this afternoon and provide you guys an updated VCE with all corrections.

@Tirade forgot to mention that I've already been through this dump twice, so bound to know some "wrong" answers :D

Took 70-412 exam and passed with 7XX.
I studied Andy, Wendy and Judith dumps. These are unreliable dumps but are the most valid I've seen. If you study these dumps, make note of the questions that have different answers in each dump and research yourself for the correct answer. There are quite a few. All question in my exam were from these dumps.

@Tirada is it possible for you to post the numbers of corrected questions or put them at the bottom of the new dump?

VCE is legit but there are about 15-20 incorrect answers (same incorrect ones that most tests have had since December). However this is the best dump Ive seen thus far.

Just did the exam for the second time, and I passed this one with 7XX.
I learned from 2 dumps. Wendy for the mixed questions, and Whitney for the Hotspot and drag & drop questions.
All questions came from these dumps, but there are still some wrong answers in these dumps. Luckily enough gooed answers to pass his exam!!! Thanks Whitney and Wendy. Guys, good luck with this exam, it's a tough one.
