I agree, should be LDP. Difficult to find good supporting documentation on this, however, what you described is true about LDP. I also referenced with other exams, and they had LDP as the answer. I updated my VCE with this as well as all other answers in this thread.

@warb: It seems Q188 has been changed to Q164 in your latest dump.

Carla noticed the following: q188/164 in the exam dfsgui.msc had changed to dfsmgmt.msc not sure if another answer choice had too.

LDP is the only option that allows you to change ad attributes wich is required for a non authorative restore according to the KB. dfsgui or dfsmgmt doesn't allow you to change any sysvol replication options. It does allow you to change dfs targets and rootpaths, etc.

@LV, ans to question 43 is C,D. Its all here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134043.aspx, the Exhibit is just to confuse you into thinking there is a combination of permissions that could be the answer.

@L_Ranger: Q43 îs then a bit strange, since users in group 1 qnd not in group 2 would be denied access due to the read&execute denied access, and that's against the requirements .

Can someone explain to me how Exam B Q8 (drag and Drop) is correct? If you have a GPO that you need to filter based on a security group that's security filtering not WMI and same goes for if a machine has more than 100MB of free space that's WMI filtering.

I think that the answer should be GPO2 Security Filtering and GPO3 should be WMI Filtering not the other way around.

If someone can give me an explanation for this the other way I'll shut up,

That's incorrect. You need to:

1. Run ntdsutil
2. list snapshots
3. find the right snapshot guid and mount it using ntdsutil.
4. run dsamain to mount and set an ldapport
5. Use AD Users & Computers to connect and browse the instance.

L_Ranger in Exam B Q53 the regarding the AD snapshot you need to run dsamain first to mount the snapshot then use ntdsutil to modify.

Regarding question 87, you are correct. Restoring a VM snapshot would not make it authoritative. I think the only possible answer here is "C. Recover the items by using Active Directory Recycle Bin."

Ok, regarding question # 43 (new questions) it looks like the original is correct (C & D). Conditional Expressions are a part of DAC (Dynamic Access Control) which is new for Server 2012. In order to implement DAC, you will need at least one Windows Server 2012 DC in the domain where the user resides that will use this feature. So if answer "D. Create a conditional expression." is correct then answer "C. Install a domain controller that runs Windows Server 2012." would have to be correct as well.

All, I have created a VCE that has all of the updated answers that were discussed on this thread. I broke up the sections into "Original Questions" and "New Questions". So the question numbering will be different than previous VCE's. It can be downloaded from here:

Hotspots - Q14 - Agree with @hitthere@Timmeh - VM6 should be performed with Live Migration:

Live migration allows a server to be moved without being brought offiline -> solution minimizes downtime

VM3 -> export and import -> you can't move VMware's beween different hardware vendors (processors) without taking them offline

Quick migration explanation -> moves a vmware quickly but takes the machine offline between moving

I scored in the 800s for 410 and 411 and scored 788 for 412.

I passed but i got lucky with the 712.

The question are the same but the syntax of the answers is slightly different

139 + 183 -> Shutting down a VM will also decrease the size of the snapshot (using the stop-vm cmdlet)

141 -> I can't explain this. Anyone else maybe?

152 +182 -> How to move services from Cluster 1 to Cluster 2. Answers are inconsistent. Can't find an explanation.

153 -> A&C are both wrong, the parameter only accept an integer as input. Which is correct though?

163 -> I can't explain this. Anyone else maybe?

192 -> Does not have a correct answer. A. Can't import/export using dsamain, B. Restoring a VM snapshot will not work AND is not never recommended for Active directory. C. Cannot restore deleted group members D. Will also not work.

I'd say A is the beste option, mount using dsamain, use another tool to create an export. Then import to the running AD instance.

204 -> I'd prefer powershell, any aditional info would be nice.

VM3 is correct. However,I think VM6 can be moved using Live Migration, since w2012 does not require clusters or shared storage.

D&D 15, The button for installing Azure is says "Download and Install" and clicking it downloads Azure installs Azure and runs the Wizard. So really a bum question. Do you miss out Download Windows Azure Online Backup Agent or Run the Windows Azure Online Backup Agent Set up Wizard. My Best answer if there are only 4 boxes is:
Sign up for account
Install Windows Backup
Download Windows Azure Online Backup - because downloading installs and runs the wizard.
Run the Register Server Wizard.

D&D Q15 - this is tricky and I think MS is trying to be sneaky here as the last step in the sequence is "register server". It looks to me that ALL steps are valid..but the current order in the dump is wrong. Should be:
1. Install windows backup feature
2. Sign up for Azure
3. Download Agent
4. Install Agent
5. Register server
So ultimately I'm not sure if MS is looking to leave out the "register server" step or not. They might be combining the install step into the download agent step..ideas?

@ Warb re: Q104, OK so as both PowerShell and Server Manager are options that we know will work then you have to look at RSAT and see if that has the tools necessary and if course it includes Server Manager. So I'd go with "Any of these".

Just replicated this in a lab, and L_Ranger / Another_Nobody has the correct order. But like with the last one I reported, the numbers are reversed when running a gpresult /r..it shows:

GPO2 enforced Precedence in GPInheritance: 1
GPO5 enforced Precedence in GPInheritance: 2
GPO4 Precedence in GPInheritance: 3
default domain policy Precedence in GPInheritance: 4
GPO1 Precedence in GPInheritance: 5
GPO3
local group policy

The way in which GPOs are applied is from the highest "precedence" number to the lowest number. So that's real interesting that "gpresult /r" shows the correct order, but in reverse..

examB Q7 - Just set up the GPO settings in a lab environment. Results when i log in as "user1":

@hellothere I somewhat agree with you on Q125. However, System Health Validators (SHVs) define configuration requirements for NAP client computers. So the discrepancy here is the word "policy" in the answer. I still answered (E) when I saw this question on the test but i'm not sure if i got it correct or not..

@L_Ranger Thanks for the response. If I'm not mistaken, I ruled out GPO4 because it has the Deny Read special permission. Otherwise I agree that it would have applied next. With that Deny read special permission on GPO4, I still believe the order for Exam B Q7 is

but with Exam B Q7, I think it was originally correct with

Here's why:
GPO 1 is obviously applied first (Domain level).
GPO2 is actually ruled out because of its special permissions (Group1 - Deny apply group policy) and it's enforced so no need to place this in any specific order.
GPO3 would be next because it's OU level (OU1) and not enforced.

ok..here's where I think it gets tricky..

GPO5 will get applied next with special permissions (Group - 1 Full Control) because it is not enforced. Typically it would get applied after GPO4 because it is lower in the OU structure (sub OU - in this case OU2) but because GPO4 is enforced (reverse order) GPO5 will get applied first. So User1, at this point, has full control of something..
GPO4 is now applied (to OU1 - Top level OU)with enforcement and special permissions (Group1 - Deny Read). Deny takes precedence at this point. Denying Read would effectively mean that User1 wouldn't have any permissions, canceling out GPO5.

Just my logical take on it..Can anyone verify?

@Adel the majority of the questions were from this dump..however there were a few that had incorrect answers as u can tell from all the posts.

the dump made by Arun is basically Warb's without corrections. Just finished going through all 246 questions. There's several duplicate questions too. For example, I took 62 questions in my 417 test today, and in going through the dumps again I recalled over 80 being on the test..doesn't quite match lol. But i'll post up the question numbers that I recall being on my test later tonight. In seeing them again, i'm really wanting verification on the "correctness" of the answers.

I've created a VCE that has about 15 corrections on it, most with explanations and links as to why. Will be uploading shortly. I did upload a VCE a couple of days ago that hasn't been posted yet. But that VCE is no longer valid cause of the new answers.

Just took it and bombed using this dump. Primarily questions pertaining to 70-412 exam. Disappointing..hope others have better luck. Lots of questions with NAP, ADCS, Hyper-V replication, ADFS. I did recognize a lot of them from the dump, however I caught myself second-guessing a lot of things due to how many incorrect answers are being reported in the dump. Either way, the effort needs to be made to verify all of the questions/answers. FYI, there were some that MS had re-worded to throw people off so read things carefully!

Took me a while to explain Q188:

Which tool should you use before you start the DFS Replication service on DC10.

To actually force replication dfsrdiag is required in combination with adsiedit. See kb below. I believe the best answer is LDP instead of dfsgui or frsutil. frsutil was used for non dfsr replicated sysvols. With dfsgui you can start the service but not perform a non-authoritative restore.

I do beleive D&D Q2 is now incorrect in this exam. I think it should be create Central Rule->Create Policy->In GPO Modify the Audit central access policy ->Modify the security settings of the shared folder -> finally followed by Search for failure events.

A question to those who have taken the exam recently: some people told here that the exam contained lots of NAP and ADFS related questions. Is this true for everyone? My knowledge is quite limited on these topics, hence my question.

Managed to scrap a pass by skin of teeth
Got about same number of questions from previous dump 10-15 there was 1 question didnt recognise and 4 that were similar with different possible answers also one changed only slightly about about dhcp reservations and 6 network cards count carefully also did get quite a few of the ones that not sure about even after 2 hrs checking them with some instructors hence the close pass hope this helps good luck
