Not valid dup, there is almost no chance to pass this dumo if you only studing the dumo. I had before the test between 90-100 at all questions, and i failed today with only 620. If e as harderyou have no expirience and not stading the book, watching the tutorials there is no pratical chance to pass this dump. To say like this, to pass the dumo you must have 100 on all and not made single mistake. What i am finking this is all about. Microsft gave as harder and harde exams, but to be short, if you gave an answer on a test that are not in the dump you will lets say 3-4 of 7 and the rest the dump with no errors you will pass with like 940, if you dont answer new questions about 7 today, you almost canot pass maybe if you have 100% on the dumps. The reson for this is i think that so many people used to pass thiss exams only studing the dump and what microsft want, same of all of as, money, that is the main reson that exams are so hard todaay if you look some two yours ago, there were 200q and if you know them you can pass with 900 easy. Of course other companys profit from this change, the ones that makes you pass the exam and the testing centars of course. So in short if you want to pass if you dont have expirience and fotographic memory, study alot.

@ US, i passed the exam and i saw this question about dns, you need to change the record in the NS tab for one of the dns , because they said that all A records are added automatically.

Hello all. Passed the exam today with 861. The questions for me were all from the dump with the exception of one or two.
There was one question on "which of the following utilities/tools would ou use to identify the global catalog servers in your domain"
Don't remeber all the answers but
1. Net computer
2. netsh
3. some powershell cmdlet

Study from the dump (study mind you, not memorize) and use the server 2008 OS hands on as much as possible (through virtual machines or any other medium)

The downloaded has like 12 different exams in it. do I need to know every question on these? Isn't there only 50-55 questions on the 70-640? Are there multiple versions of the exam that can be given? 486 questions is a lot to go over. Thank you for you time

Wanted to stop by and thank all the people involved with creating this dump. Took my exam today and passed with 815. I would say 85% of q's were from dump.

There was one new question that I never saw. It involved DNS zones with two DNS servers DC1 and DNS in the contoso.com domain. Zone tranfers are setup but the transfer actually failed. You need to figure out why. Exhibits show the Name Servers information, Zone Transfers and DNS Manager. Also the IP for DC1 was 10.0.0.1 and DNS was 10.0.0.2. There were like 6-8 answers but the one that I noticed was in the DNS manager there was an A record for the DNS server as 10.1.0.2 which I choose as the answer since it appears the host record was input incorrectly. I could be wrong.

I gotta tell ya fellas, I passed the exam yesterday! These dumps are fantastic. If you know them you'll do fine. I had 50 questions and 120minutes. I finished with 45minutes remaining. Almost every single question was from these dumps. Maybe one new question. See below.

Here's what I can remember off the top of my head:
- one new question where they're asking what command you can run to determine which domain controllers have the global catalog.
- drag and drop question where you have to place "assign to user", "publish to user" and "assign to computer".
- exam F #38. You have to pick the correct subnet for the site. I'm pretty sure I got that one wrong. Wish I could've remembered the right answer!
- be sure to know ALL the questions were they have more than 4 choices . the ones where they give you a) through j) as possible answers. I think I had every single one of those on my exam!
- exam i #15. It's one of those drag and drop questions where you have to relocate the active directory instance LDS1 from the c: drive to the d: drive . net stop LDS1, ntdsutil tool, net start LDS1.
- learn all of the questions regarding PSO's (password setting objects) and certificate services.
- one question on preparing to use the active directory recycle bin . remember that the forest functional level has to be at windows 2008 R2. I got that one right!

I just checked MS web site and it is true that These certifications will be retired on July 31, 2013. If you already passed 642 and 646 exams, then you should get this one (640) also. As I understand, if you have System Administrator Certification for 2008, you can upgrade it to 2012 by just taking one exam which is 417. Good Luck.

Answer should be B, "member of properties for user 1". Why? Well, remember that RODCs do not store passwords unless the user is added to the "Allowed to replicate password" group. Each RODC have 2 built-in groups, Allowed to replicate and Denied to replicate. Hence, you should add the user1 account to the Allowed to replicate password group.

@LP,

That one is a mess. While some Microsoft KB points to being B, install the certificate services on member server, C may have also some sence. Why? Well, standard editions don't have the full CA functionalities. Microsoft recomendation is to use them only as Stand Alone CAs.

If this question comes in my exam, I would choose C, hoping that be the answer Microsoft is looking for. :-/

Yeah, on Exam D question 15 I would have picked choice D as well .. even though the listed answer is A. Anyone else have any ideas about this question?

I did some research on my 2008 DNS AD integrated environment here and I don't see how the answer could be choice A because all the replication options you can pick in there would still allow replication.

There's only 3 radio buttons you can choose from with DNS replication:
- to all DNS servers in this forest
- to all DNS servers in this domain
- to all Domain Controllers in this domain (for Win2000 compatibility)

all of these don't seem to have any affect in this case because the RODC is in the forest and is in the domain and is a domain controller.

When I take the exam I'll choose choice D "modify the zone transfer settings.." unless someone else here can explain otherwise.

Anyone have any ideas on this question?

The exam questions were so much like what we have in the dump, but I face couple new questions. One of them was about the DNS and the summary of that Question is You have two DNS Servers, DC1 and DC2, and on dc1 you have primary standard zone and on dc2 you have secondary zone configured for the zone in Dc1, the thing was he was asking you to secure that zone transfer between the two servers. there was no any option to change the zone into Active directory zone. two choices were not valid at all, the other two choices were 1- apply IPSEC on both Dc1 and DC2
2-Applying the DNSSEC. I chose the DNSSEC option, I beilieve I was not right.

Another question was in the GPO and asking you to filter one specific Universal group that have many users from two different departments, I chose the Security filter.
But I'm not sure if we can apply security filter on Universal group, the other set of choices were the standard choices like apply Loopback policy on merge or replace mode, and Group policy Preferences, the rest of options are not applicable to GPO.

Most of the questions are multi-choices like in exam G K J and L. Study the FSMO roles and Domain/forest Prep and on which server you can run them.

Most of the questions are the same in the Dump, but pay attention the context of some question look a little bit different, but they still addressing the same idea of the dump questions. It won't be hard if you studied this dump well.

BTW, there was no ABC company or those stupid questions about NIC2 or stuff that not related to 70-640 topics in section C dump. GooD LucK :D

I believe being a part of two groups at the same computer won't help , because you will have to have the right to modify in Active Directory Partition, SCP location. Domain Administrative credential is needed at least to complete this Job.

Also, as far as I understand, the diference between domain admin and enterprise admin is the scope of rights (first one only on domain, second one on entire forest). Is not the correct answer for this B, AD RMS service group?

@ jerry, I believe the question that you posted is one of the wrong answered questions in this dump, as per the Dump the answer is B, but this answer does not make sense. If you noticed these two lines in the question: 1- "deploy a new Enterprise Intermediate CA certificate TO ALL COMPUTERS IN THE DOMAIN"

I passed the exam 70-640 with 746 points today. 1 new issue that was not in the simulated.

As for the Forest/prep questing I believe you should be member of all (Schema admin, Enterprise admin and Domain at the computer that you will run the command at) and since the Child is holding all Forest-wide role, I believe the answer should be (C,D,F)

Passed this today, 861. I would say at least 45/50 qns were from this dump, but even so there were some qns were even in the dump I thought the answer was wrong, so in the exam I put in what I thought was the right answer. One new question that had me completely flummoxed:

Failed on the first attempt using this dump with 681.

Thankfully MS has the second shot promotion and passed today with 769.

The dump is probably about 80-90% accurate but i'd advise to check the MSKB's and CBT Nuggets for things you are not positive about.

I am taking this exam in exactly three weeks from now. could somebody out there who has done this exam tell mi which new questions have been added. Especially want to know which simulations and drag and drops are in the exam

about 3-5 new / hard reworded questions which werent in the dump.

1: i got the question wich 3 rights you need to run adprep /FORESTPREP (picked shema admins, domain admins child contorse.com and contorso com.

2 you need to find out which servers function as global catalog servers. you only had comandline options (4). think it was something like ntdsutil, dsmod, repadmin and get-adoptionalfeature. dont know whats right there picked ntdsutil i think.

cant remember any other completly new questions but defently passed with this dump.
